DSCC presents cast and crew of “All the Way Home”

The Dyersburg State Community College Theatre Department announces the cast and crew of its upcoming production of the Pulitzer Prize winning play All the Way Home by Tad Mosel.

 

The play is based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel, A Death in the Family by Tennessee native James Agee. It is set in 1915 in and around Knoxville and centers on the Follet family, particularly the family of Jay and Mary and their young son, Rufus. It tells the story of the simple moments they share, before introducing the audience to their extended families--Jay’s, who are a rather backward lot, and Mary’s, who are a bit more refined. Tragedy strikes and a member of the family suddenly dies. The plot focuses on how they take the news, and what their future will hold.

The cast consists area DSCC students and area residents including: Alex Swayne of Dyersburg as Rufus; Abby Swayne and Ches Davis, both of Dyersburg, as neighborhood boys; Jacob Pope of Dyersburg as Jay Follet; Crystal Stockdale of Hornbeak as Mary Follet; Jeffrey Dycus of Dyersburg as Ralph Follet, Brittany Smith of Halls as Sally Follet; Bobby Solmon of Troy as John Henry Follet; Molly Cupples of Dyersburg as Jessie Follet; Hayden Cherry of Halls as Jim Wilson Follet; Ellyn Smith of Dyersburg as Aunt Sadie Follet; Maggie Richardson of Dyersburg as Great-Great Grandmaw; Melody Pafford of Yorkville as Catherine Lynch; Ella Bentley of Dyersburg as Aunt Hannah Lynch; Pete Parsons of Newbern as Joel Lynch; Colton Bane of Dyersburg as Andrew Lynch; and Rick Campbell of Dyersburg as Father Jackson.

The production’s crew members include: stage manager- Ellyn Smith; assistant stage manager- Pete Parsons; carpentry crew – Kyle Flippin of Martin, Del Roberts of Newbern, Evan Jones of Dyersburg, John Gale of Caruthersville, Jessica Davis of Troy, and Patrick Maher of Brownsville; costumes – Carlin Puckett of Dyersburg and Kayla Mauldin of Ridgley; props – Pete Parsons and Paige Ellison of Ripley; lighting and sound design – Shannon Parker of Crockett Mills, lights operation – Ethan Spiess of Dyersburg; and sound operation – Dale Jones.

The play is scheduled for performance Thursday – Saturday, November 15-17 in the First Citizens National Bank Auditorium in the Campus Activities Building on the Dyersburg campus.
