Come celebrate a "Dickens Christmas" on Covington's Court Square this weekend

December 10 & 11, 2011, come to Covington’s Court Square for a magical and unique Christmas celebration.

Members of the community will be bringing Charles Dickens' story "A Christmas Carol" to life!

The town square will be transformed to resemble a Christmas setting of mid 19th century Victorian England.

Although Charles Dickens penned "A Christmas Carol" in 1843, it did not become popular in the United States until the late 1860s but its influence can be found in many of the Christmas traditions we celebrate today.

Colorful characters such as Tiny Tim, Scrooge, Marley's ghost can be found mingling with merchants an vendors dressed in historical attire around the square.

Delight your senses with Christmas carolers, musicians, street performers, story telling and puppet
