Entrepreneur Development Center Launches

The Entrepreneur Development Center (EDC) will host its launch event on Tuesday, October 23 at the Aeneas Building in downtown Jackson.  The launch event, scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. will feature Matt Kisber, President and CEO of Silicon Ranch Corporation; and, successful entrepreneur, Carl Kirkland, Co-founder and Chairman Emeritus of Kirklands.

Fox Hollow earns accolades for high standards

(WMC-TV) - During her 19 years on the job, Rosie Hughey has set a high standard as property manager at Fox Hollow:

perfection.

“My job is to make sure everything is running smoothly, not just with the physical community and grounds, but

for our residents as well,” Hughey says of her work at the United Church Homes affordable housing community

in Covington, Tenn. “I want everything to be perfect, so I wear many hats!”

That commitment to excellence recently earned Fox Hollow a prestigious Community of Quality Award from

Lauderdale County will have second REDI Digital Factory

Southwest Tennessee Development District has announced that it is awarding funding for a second REDI Digital Factory to Lauderdale County. The factory will be housed in the former TKS building, which is basically on campus with Ripley High School.

REDI’s pilot Digital Factory, established in the City of Parsons, has already created 46 jobs since it opened in the Summer of 2011, with a typical Digital Factory graduate earning between $12-13 per hour when working full-time and nearly $9 per hour when working part-time.

Thirteen Memphis-area non-profits are each $1,000 richer, thanks to Wells Fargo's third Days of Giving Program Sept. 5 at the Memphis Union Mission, 600 Poplar Ave.

(WMC-TV) - Cars, credit and construction top the list of the industries most consumers can't stand, according to a survey by the Consumer Federation of America and the North American Consumer Protection Investigators.

The organizations surveyed 38 state consumer protection agencies about "...the most common, fastest-growing and worst complaints they received in 2011."
