Munford's Valentine Lake now stocked with trout | Community Spirit

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has chosen Valentine Lake in Munford as one of twenty-five sites to be stocked with rainbow trout. Trout were released on December 15th, with a second release scheduled for Thursday, January 19. Trout measure between 9 and 13 inches.
Anyone wishing to fish must have a Tennessee total sportsman's license or a fishing license and trout stamp for anglers 16 years of age or older; no license is required for those under 13 or over 65. A catch limit has been set for seven trout per person with no minimum length limit; catch and release is not permitted.
Recommended tackle:
· 4-6 pound test line
· Number 10, 12 or 14 hooks, depending on bait used
· Baits of whole kernel corn, chartreuse and orange colored salmon eggs, night crawlers or red worms
Valentine Lake is located inside Valentine Regional Park at 1020 Beaver Road. In addition to the lake, the park contains playground areas, a picnic pavilion area, disc golf course, soccer fields and restrooms. The park is open dawn to dusk.
