Man arrested after Tipton County undercover sting | Crime

On April 21st, 2012 at about 6:30 PM, the Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at 488 Antioch Cotton Lake Rd in Covington, in connection to an undercover drug operation. Investigators, the SWAT team and the K-9 unit executed the warrant resulting in the arrest of George Robert Leird, 25, of the Antioch Cotton Lake residence. Leird was arrested for Possession of Schedule IV after a Xanax pill was recovered during the search. Investigators seized $121.00 in currency from Leird. Leird was also arrested on an unrelated warrant for Possession of Schedule II with Intent to Sell.

Leird was held without bond pending his appearance in Tipton County General Sessions Court. Leird is on probation related to a previous drug conviction. At the time of the arrest Leird was out of jail on bond for pending drug charges.

“If someone wants to continue to sell drugs in our communities we will continue to aggressively investigate and arrest drug dealers,” says Tipton County Sheriff Pancho Chumley.
