Former deputy indicted for alleged sex with teen | Crime
(WMC-TV) – A 29-year-old former Tipton County Sheriff's deputy has been indicted by a grand jury for allegedly having sex with a 17-year-old girl.
Jason Cochran was placed on administrative leave without pay in April while investigators determined what criminal charges would be filed against him.
The investigation started after the sheriff's office received information about the alleged two month relationship between Cochran and the teenage girl.
The grand jury indicted Cochran Monday. He’s scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.
Cochran was hired in 2007 as a corrections officer. He was transferred to the patrol division in April 2011.
He has since been fired by the sheriff’s office.
