Several arrested during Tipton County traffic saturations

The Tipton County Sheriff’s Office conducted traffic enforcement saturations over the Thanksgiving Holidays.

The saturations were conducted in the Covington area, Highway 59W, Burlison Community, Detroit Road, Jamestown Road, Atoka-Idaville Road, Highway 14 and Beaver Creek area.

Tipton County deputies investigating death of 3-week-old baby

The Tipton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the early morning death of a 3 week-old-infant.

Deputies say the baby died at home in the 2300 block of Drummonds Road in Munford.

On Thursday, deputies received a 911 call regarding an unresponsive child around 3:30AM.

The father reported he had fallen with the child.

A Drummonds man is behind bars tonight on meth related charges.

Tipton County officials charged Christopher Ford with promotion of methamphetamine.

Police say they caught him in an undercover operation.

They tried to buy meth from him and he sold it.

TBI releases latest Missing Children's Bulletin, includes 14-year-old Mid-South case

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation released its latest Missing Children's Bulletin this week, detailing the disappearances of 26 kids across the state.

Many of the cases date back decades, including the case of 14-year-old Cayce McDaniel.

Cayce disappeared from her home in Milan, Tennessee, on August 16, 1996.

The Action News 5 Investigators profiled Cayce's case in 2010.

Several suspects were interviewed in connection to Cayce's disappearance, but no one was ever charged in the case.

Investigators with the TBI hope that if Cayce is alive - the image above of Cayce age progressed to 23 years old - will lead them to her.

TBI arrests Tipton County preacher after he was indicted for theft

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested the administrator of a non-profit organization in Tipton County, Tenn. known as Tipton Cares after he was indicted by the Tipton County grand jury on theft charges.

Allen Parnelle Brown, 57, of Drummonds, Tenn. was indicted on two counts of theft over $1,000 and one count of theft over $10,000.

In August of 2011, the 25th Judicial District Attorney General’s Office requested TBI to investigate allegations of Brown stealing money while working as the administrator of Tipton Cares.

Information and evidence during the investigation developed that indicated Brown opened a credit card for the non-profit in his name and also received a donation of a truck for Tipton Cares which he in turn gave to a family member.

Additionally, there was a CD transferred from Tipton Cares to an account held by Brown.

TBI investigation in Covington Police Officer leads to additional arrest

 

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested an additional subject in the case against a suspended Covington police officer who was arrested this past summer.

The Tipton County grand jury indicted the police officer’s father after the investigation revealed he was a convicted felon in possession of handguns and had been voting illegally for a number of years.

Grand jury rules that Tipton County deputy was justified in shooting death

On Monday, November 5, 2012, the District Attorney General Mike Dunavant presented to the Tipton County Grand Jury the results of a T.B.I. investigation into the fatal shooting death of Charles Scooter McRaven, age 31, by Tipton County Deputy Sheriff Ryan Magee, on July 23, 2012, in Drummonds, Tennessee.
