Tipton County prepares for annual Veteran's Day Program | Events
Tipton County will celebrate its annual Veteran's Day Program on Sunday May 27 at 2PM at Acts II Community Church, 106 Star Shopping Center in Covington.
Retired U.S. Navy Chaplain Roy Cash will be the keynote speaker. Cash is a 1957 graduate of Treadwell High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the U of M in 1962. A former staff announcer and news broadcaster at a local radio station, he was commissioned Ensign upon graduation from officers candidate school in Newport, RI in May 1963. He then reported to Naval Air Station, Pensacola, FL for flight training. In his 30 years of Naval service, he gained nearly 6,000 flight hours. He was awarded 24 military and combat ribbons and medals, including the Silver Star Medal.
The Memorial Day Chaplain will be Rev. Norman Crittenden, a WWII veteran and local United Methodist minister.
The public is invited to attend.
