The Mid-South Horse Show Association is hosting the 25th Annual Mid-South Charity Horse Show benefitting Youth Town of Tennessee at Pugh Bourne Park, 343 Oakfield Rd. Oakfield, Tenn. The event is an effort to help youth end their addiction problems. Admission is free to children 12 and younger and $5 for adults.
Former Miss America Kellye Cash will sing the national anthem. The Milan, Tenn. native was Miss Tennessee 1986 and crowned Miss America in 1987. Following her reign as Miss America, Cash began her career as a Christian music artist. She has been involved in several theatrical performances and has released six albums.
Several additional Youth Town activities are planned as the organization commemorates its 50th anniversary. Celebrations are being planned for Jackson, Memphis and Nashville in the fall. The Youth Town BBQ/Music Festival and 5K will be held on the Youth Town campus on Oct. 6, and a Christmas lunch is planned for Dec. 13 at Youth Town.
