Sheriff's deputies bust illegal gambling operation | News
COVINGTON, TN- (WMC-TV) – One man was arrested and a woman is wanted in connection to an illegal gambling operation in Covington.
The Tipton County Sheriff's Office executed search warrants at 808 Stitt Street and Little Porky's on Mueller Brass Road. Sheriff's deputies confirmed there were illegal payoffs being made by Denise Whitehead, 39.
Police say people would go to the home, gamble on the machines, and receive cash for their winnings.
The owner of the machines, Steven Andrew Uttz, 49, admitted to owning them and taking cash from people gambling illegally.
Uttz was arrested and charged with aggravated gambling promotion. He posted a $5,000 bond and was released. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 11.
Sheriff's deputies are still searching for Denise Whitehead. She is wanted on an aggravated gambling promotion charge.
